CEBRA shortlisted for historic warship museum

CEBRA is shortlisted to shape the future of the Fregatten Jylland museum in Ebeltoft, Denmark.

The commission focuses on creating a new visitor journey that situates the historic frigate in a pivotal period of Danish history while connecting its story to the present.

The renewal aims to strengthen the museum’s relevance for today’s visitors.
Built in 1860 as a warship, Fregatten Jylland’s history spans war and peace, from Denmark’s 1864 war with Prussia and Austria to international voyages as a royal ship for King Christian IX.

CEBRA is one of three architecture teams selected to develop a proposal for the comprehensive renewal of the Fregatten Jylland museum.

Today, in addition to the historic warship, the museum comprises museum and shipyard buildings, a harbour, a restaurant and extensive outdoor areas by Ebeltoft Bay.

The process is supported by Den A.P. Møllerske Støttefond.
